Things You Might Want To Know

I have done quite a lot of different things so far in my life – I've studied law, worked as a nanny in four different countries, delivered ten babies, sung in an opera and adopted a three-legged cat. I've had lots of different jobs, some which I loved and some which paid the bills, but nowadays I am a professional dabbler. You can see a bit more about the projects I'm working on over on the Employment page.

When I'm not juggling multiple jobs, I am often to be found curled up in an armchair with a book, a mug of hot chocolate, a purring cat or any combination of the above. With my partner Naomi I like to go on long weekend visits to interesting places. Some of the recent highlights have included the North Norfolk coast, Dublin, and Tunbridge Wells. Sometimes we borrow a dog from a neighbour and take her on a long hike around our local parks, which is a wonderful way to unwind from life's stresses and complications. Some day we hope to have a dog of our own, although the aforementioned three-legged cat is less keen on the idea.

I enjoy cooking and baking, especially if friends are coming over to help me eat the results, and have a not-very-secret love for American crime dramas such as NCIS and Law & Order. Folk music has provided a soundtrack to my entire life, and in my late teens I was introduced to the beauty of Anglican choral music. I would love to be a better dancer and dream of learning how to Lindy Hop. Some day!
